When mum came to Ross after being married she worked in Peacocks, then left to have children.
Brian and Carol were growing up Bill Preece Fruit Fare at Cantilupe Road wanted someone to help for a week, while someone was taking a holiday. Mum applied for the post, and stayed for 30 years. Mum made friends with the Preece family, Bill, Ron and Karen Preece, Richard Downing,Ann Bevan and many more. Christmas’s were very busy mum returning late after making up christmas hampers, for the many customer orders.

Summers Yeomans coach trips were frequent staying in hotels in Loch Achray Hotel, in the heart of the Trossachs and Loch Long Hotel near Oban and Loch Lomond.
Both members of the Ross Disabled Club visits to garden centres, country houses were frequent in the Ross Action Bus.
Then marriages for both Brian and then Carol. Then great excitement with the births of first grandson Paul, then Andrew, Gareth, Sarah, Josh followed, all adding to the family.
Families and cousins met for lovely meals and apple pie and custard during the school holidays. With games in the garden and walks to Chase Park to feed the ducks, treasured memories.
